Mobile Projects - Maturity Information

Most of the projects that you can download from this site were developed as student projects, either during a course or as a semester project by a small team of students. Therefore, these applications are not intended for commercial release and do not come with a warranty of any kind - use them at your own risk. Depending on the intention of the project, the available time and the experience level of the students, the projects are developed up to a certain quality level:

This application is still in development and not finished yet. In some cases you can already download a very early version of the project, which is not finished and does not implement all the functionality required or described in the description text.

The intention of this project is to demonstrate new and innovative features. The application itself is usually just very basic and might not be suitable for real life usage. You will most likely encounter bugs and other limitations, which you would not expect in a final commercial application.
In contrast to projects in the prototype class, this application is more complete regarding features and does not only concentrate on experimenting with new ideas. However, it will still contain bugs of different severity level and will not contain every comfort feature that you could expect.
This project was planned to offer a more complete user experience and was tested for bugs. It should live up to expectations that you might have for a commercial application. Due to limited time and resources, it can of course still contain bugs or have problems on certain devices.
This project has been very carefully tested and should not contain any known bugs. If applicable and necessary, it also passed some external testing scheme like Symbian Signed. Due to the nature of student projects, there is still no warranty (for non-commercial applications). For more details, see the license that should be included with the project.
